In today’s world of high content density, there’s no shortage of information. Blogs, YouTube, online courses, newsletters, podcasts—information is everywhere, and most of it’s free. So, why would anyone need a mentor?

Let’s go back and start at the, err…beginning?

Every action we take has an outcome. If the outcome is something we wanted, we call it a goal. Desirable Outcome- Simple. That goal could be big or small, long-term or agile, complex or straightforward. The nature of it doesn’t matter. What matters is that you have a goal.

So now that you know your goal— let’s prepare yourself for this. And that starts with passion. You’ll need grit and consistency. You’ll need to keep an eye on your productivity ratio—how much of your time is actually moving you toward your goal? You’ll need to stay focused, and you must create space and time in your life to work on it.

So, you’re ready. Now what?

You start working. But here’s where it often gets tricky. If you’re not 100% sure of the path, if you don’t know the exact steps, your efforts might just spin in incremental circles. Why I used the keyword “tricky” is because of that fact that many of you wouldn’t even know that the path you’ve chosen is wrong until it’s too late. This is where a mentor can make a difference.

A mentor gives you direction. They help you spot what’s worth doing—and what’s not. They teach you workflows, share processes, introduce you to the right content, people, and—maybe most importantly—they lend you their experience. Years of it.

You can try doing it alone. But with a mentor, you move faster, with fewer wrong turns—and a lot more clarity.

So, Who is your mentor?
