The Two Lessons Life Demands from Us : Body & World

The very first thing every human being should learn is not math, not religion, not history, not even how to make money. It’s their own body.
We spend so much time trying to “control” our bodies—starving it, forcing it, pushing it. But here’s the truth: you will never truly control your body. That’s not what it’s designed for. What you can do is learn to listen to it, to use it, and to protect it.
Think of your body as your only real lifelong companion. It’s with you in every joy, every heartbreak, every single day of your life. Learn how it reacts to stress, to food, to lack of sleep. Protect it from harm—whether that’s an accident, an infection, an abuse or even the silent damage of ignoring its needs. Your body doesn’t demand perfection, it just asks for care. And when you give it that, it becomes a powerful tool—a vehicle that can take you wherever your mind and heart dream of going.
The second thing we should all learn is the world we live in. You’re part of this messy, beautiful, unpredictable world. And this world has its own patterns, its own logic. From the vastness of the universe that makes us feel like a speck of dust, to the tiny details of the street you walk every day—there’s so much to understand.
Learn how to survive in it. Learn how to grow in it. Pay attention to how things work, how people communicate and how systems are built. The world can be harsh, yes, but it can also be generous if you know how to move within it.
If you master these two lessons—your body and your world—you don’t need much else. Because everything else we chase—money, success, relationships, even happiness—will flow a little easier when your foundations are strong.
So maybe the real “education” we need isn’t just in classrooms or degrees. It’s in learning how to live inside ourselves, and how to live alongside the world. And if you think about it, that’s what being human is all about.
